The PetCool dog house heater and air conditioner is a must for hot summer and icy cold winter climates.
From International Air, the ThermAssure 2500 is the newest, most robust model designed to take the elements and
run continuously as needed. It's great for diverse climates like ours where temperatures can range
from -9º to 110º. The PetCool is a climate control system designed to be either a heater or air conditioner
making it valuable throughout the year. The ThermAssure features a built in return air system
to help dehumidify your pet's home and an adjustable thermostat ranging from 63º to 90º. The PetCool Heating AC Unit is designed
for a maximum 6' x 6' x 6' area.

Building Our Winterized And Summer Ready "Dog House" Shelter For Daisy
Our little pygmy goat Daisy is now 8, which makes her a Senior Citizen in goat years. We love Daisy very much and want to
do everything we can to keep her healthy and protected from the elements. Daisy has access to our back porch, however, it's just
not enough protection from extreme heat, blowing snow and a cold winter's day. Consequently, we decided to design, plan and custom build
an insulated dog house to keep her comfy all year long.
Goats have a tendency to relieve themselves wherever they happen to be when the urge hits, so we needed to build a shelter that we could
easily clean. We love the Barn Home
plastic dog house
because it breaks in half for easy cleaning and the plastic floors channel urine
away from the animal off to the sides until it can be cleaned or hosed off. Since we were custom building the house, we decided to build it
around the
two BarnHomes we already had and with a lift up top to make them easy to remove for needed cleaning.

Our Finished Weatherized Custom Built Dog House
Our finished custom built dog house ended up being about 6' wide, 5' deep and 4' high with a layer of T1 siding on the outside and
regular plywood on the inside with a layer of Styrofoam in between for insulation. We made it bottomless and rested it on a
base of four wheels just enough off the ground to keep the wood from rotting, but low enough to
protect her from the wind.
We put the main door on the left and made the right side the wind break, weather protection area of the house. The top has spring
hinges on the back to allow it to be lifted so the inside can be removed for cleaning. The two
BarnHome
dog houses are placed
side by side facing front with a portion of the inside sides cut out so Daisy can move from the left house to the right house.
We left the BarnHome roofs on for added insulation and to keep her from chewing on the inside wood part of the house.
We put a Plexiglas window on the wind break side.
Our Favorite Dog House Accessories
In the summer, the
PetCool air conditioner is a must. We also like to keep a
Kuranda Above Ground Dog Bed
just outside for those times when Daisy would like to luxuriate outside in the sunshine and blowing breeze. Kuranda dog beds
are made of durable fabrics stretched across a frame to provide comfort and support, and,
they are great in the winter too for getting your pet off the cold hard ground. In the winter, we are looking forward
to counting on our PetCool's dog house heating functions. We will also be using the
Kane Heat Mat we have had for several
years now, to give her a warm surface to lie on in her house on those snowy cold winter nights.
Daisy is one comfortable goat!
