Advantage Flea and Advantix K9 Pet Meds - Differences and Similarities
Both
advantage and
advantix contain imidacloprid to repel fleas, both are produced
by Bayer, both are applied topically, monthly and both are
water resistant. However, k9 advantix contains
an additional ingredient, permethrin, that advantage does not have. This additional ingredient
works to control ticks
and mosquitoes too,
something advantage cannot do. Although advantage can be used on cats,
advantix is
for dogs only and should
never be used on felines.
