Lens Opacity & Cataracts - Cause & Definition
Generally speaking, the eye lens of a dog or cat
is made from water and proteins which are called crystalline proteins. The proteins are arranged in a
special manner so that the lens will be clear. Aging, trauma, nutritional deficiencies, disease, even too much
exposure to the sun can cause the proteins in the eye to degenerate and break down. Damaged proteins in the lens
can clump together which can lead to lens opacity.
The term lens opacity is used to describe a condition of the lens where the eye lens becomes noticeably opaque, cloudy or
discolored resulting in impaired vision or blindness. Lens opacity is sometimes used as a very simple definition of a cataract.

Summary Of Online Reviews
In general the reviews from pet owners regarding ocluvet have been mostly positive with one pet owner even calling
the drops a "miracle drug". The majority commented that they either saw a significant improvement in
eyesight or at least a slow down in the progression of the disease. A few mentioned they particularly
noticed its beneficial effects and vision benefits when playing catch with their dog. A few complained about OcluVet being too
expensive but there were also those that felt it was still a more cost effective alternative to the expensive
option of cataract surgery. And some had actually canceled already planned surgeries after successfully
trying the medication. There was a very small minority of pet owners that commented they felt the product
did not make any difference at all, positive or negative. Others mentioned the drops came out too
liberally or dribbled down the side of the bottle and recommended to be careful not to
let them spill and waste. Hopefully the manufacturer will eventually fix this problem.

Free radicals are unstable molecules in the body some times produced
during the bonding and splitting processes of molecules.
They can be produced simply by the body's normal processes or they may be the result of the body's attempt
